 Expo with Marcia Nolte. From 8th dec at the Bookstore Projectspace - Ernest Staesplein 1 - Amsterdam.

We hebben een expositie ruimte vormgegeven als speciaalzaak waar sparen en bewaren weer de aandacht krijgen. Wilde plannen, onverwachte uitgaven en impulsieve acties lijken in tijden van recessie en mogelijke crisis zeldzame zaken te worden. Speciaalzaak van BLIK biedt de mogelijkheid om toch antwoord te kunnen blijven geven aan deze verlangens, hoe groot of klein ze ook zijn.

Een divers aanbod van uniek vormgegeven blikken worden tentoongesteld. De blikken zijn voorzien van gestencilde en gezeefdrukte etiketten, die elk een eigen spaarplan omschrijven: van ‘blikschade’ tot een blik voor ‘ver weg’.

Bewoners van de buurt en andere bezoekers worden uitgenodigd om middels een tastbaar en functioneel object het concept van de expositie mee naar huis te nemen.

Matylda Krzykowski is the art director of the Clash Project during the Fashion Clash 2011 where she asked 10 not-fashion designers to make a piece. I teamed up with Tim Klinkhamer and made this - a wedding dress (in the old days the last piece on a fashion show) combined with desert (the showstopper of a dinner).

Wedding dresses used to be the showstopper of fashionshows - i translated this and the sweetness of the desert (the delightful showstopper of a dinner) into a wooden wedding dress which glides along the floor. With more time I would like to redo the collar and turn it into something more whipped and stylish.. The dress is for sale - enjoy the ride yourself! This poster is just a blueprint, a starting point. By photocopying the shapes (and following the rest of the simple instructions) you can create your own original piece! (the illustration in the middle of the poster is made by combining the shapes around it). Three and four posts below you can see some experiments i did before making it and soon some results of others will be shown! The show is from 11 -25 march in the Chicago Art Department- and adresses the concepts op multiplicity, ubiquity and collectivism in poster art and printmaking. Below the creations of bente and stan!                                         .

Years ago some groups of people had a flag and an anthem, but no land. They could not become a country and so everyone forgot about them, because they dissolved or dissolved into other countries. Weeping records offers you these long lost anthems. Lets sing along.

These four designs are the tip of the iceburg and will be on show and for sale at the Walls Gallery, Prinsengracht 737 Amsterdam - 3rd February till April 5th 2008. Depth and color are hard to capture on photograph, so if you are around it’s nicer to check them out in real life!
